Stena Line’s four initiatives to recruit more women

A large part of the work will be to attract and retain more women in shipping. Women currently make up 2 percent of the 1.2 million people working in the industry globally, writes Stena Line in a statement

“We have to ensure that we can attract, recruit and retain the best talent, and we must guarantee that everyone feels welcome, regardless of gender. Gender diversity gives us more competencies to choose from in a world where companies compete for talent. Research also shows that companies with more equality also are more creative and innovative and ultimately make more money,” says Margareta Jensen Dickson, Group Head of People at Stena Line, in the statement.

She emphasizes that the goal to recruit more women applies to all areas of management in the company, from the ships and the ports to the board.
