One of the world’s largest offshore engineering contractors has gained contracts in Norway and the US for execution in 2026 and 2027
Subsea 7 has been awarded sizeable contracts in the US and Norway that combined could total US$300M in value.
In the US, Shell Offshore has contracted Subsea 7 to transport and install a floating production system for a deepwater project in the US Gulf.
Shell intends to install a floating production unit on the Sparta development in the Garden Banks block 959, which is off the southeast coast of Louisiana in water depths of up to 1,635 m.
For this project, Oslo, Norway-listed Subsea 7 is involved in project management and engineering, from its Houston, Texas offices, for the transport and installation work, with offshore operations expected to start in 2027.
“We are continuing our collaboration with Shell in the US, building on past projects, including the recent Vito development. We look forward to playing a key role in the successful delivery of the Sparta project,” said Subsea 7 senior vice president for operations in the US Gulf, Craig Broussard.
