Solstad Offshore has received letters of award with a firm value totalling Nrk500M (US$50.7M) for the charter of the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Maximus

The Norwegian OSV owner reported the awards were from “various undisclosed subsea contractors” for projects in 2023. The projects have a combined duration of minimum 200 days plus additional option periods. These options, if exercised, could increase the value and duration of the charter.

Normand Maximus was acquired for US$158M from Maximus Ltd —a company partly owned by Solstad —by AMSC earlier this year. Built in 2016,Normand Maximusis a highly capable offshore construction vessel, with a 2,600-m2working deck, accommodation capacity for 180 and a carousel for flexible products with about 4,000-tonne capacity. Main work scope is laying flexible pipes, umbilicals and installing subsea equipment, with a future work scope of installing power cables for the offshore wind industry.

Data from vessel positioning service Marine Traffic showed Normand Maximus as moored at Alesund, Norway on 23 December.

Normand Maximus is on a long-term bareboat charter between a subsidiary of AMSC and a single purpose subsidiary of Solstad.
