Sumec Co., Ltd. announced that its shipbuilding subsidiary signed new contracts for two Crown 63 version 3.0 bulk carriers and four 3,100 TEU feeder container ships.
The company concluded an agreement with Itochu Corporation for the construction of two Crown 63 version 3.0 bulk carriers.
According to Sumec, the two companies had already cooperated on two bulk carriers a year earlier, and the new agreement reflects Itochu’s continued trust in the Crown brand.
Sumec also signed separate agreements with Chartworld and TMA for the construction of two 3,100 TEU feeder container ships each.
The Crown 63 bulk carrier is its flagship product with independent intellectual property, optimized hull design and environmental features.
The 3,100 TEU feeder container ships are designed with carbon emissions below the International Maritime Organization’s Energy Efficiency Design Index requirements and nitrogen oxide emissions meeting Tier III standards.
