Swain Transport Group Acquires Proctors Transport

Must read

The British general haulage and specialist transport company, Swain Transport Group, has acquired Proctors Transport. This strategic acquisition has been made with the goal of strengthening Swain’s range of services, particularly in the construction and specialist movement sectors.

Both of these Nottingham-based companies are involved in the building, distribution, and agricultural machinery transport sector. Following Swain’s winning of several contracts in the building material distribution sector, this move brings the company’s total number of UK depots to 13.

With the addition of Proctors and W.Coys, Swain now has nine specialist sectors to cope with a variety of customer needs. This is part of the company’s greater strategy aimed at growing operational capacity in areas where larger customers need a local fleet.

Matthew Deer, Swain’s Group managing director, said: “To help keep pace with our rapid growth we see these acquisitions as natural steps towards increased operational coverage and help our team develop new services. Both companies are an excellent fit for our service portfolio and we very much look forward to them becoming part of the wider Swain Group.”

David Emslie, Group sales director at Swain Group, added: “This is very exciting news. Sales development is about matching our services to our customer expectations. I am in the fortunate position that regardless of the service a customer seeks there will be a Swain division which has the resources and equipment to fulfil it. We are in the privileged position of being a genuine one stop shop for any transport, haulage or logistical challenge. The inclusion of Proctors and W.Coys to the divisional portfolio strengthens our national and international presence.”
