Zhoushan, Zhejiang, Oct. 22 (CNW) – By Jia Tianyong, Fang Zhibin, Wu Fei The 8th Oil Merchants Conference opened in Zhoushan, Zhejiang on the 22nd. With the theme “Deepening Open Cooperation, Jointly Building a Green, Low-Carbon, and Sustainable Bulk Commodity Market,” this conference attracted 366 domestic and international enterprises, including 112 foreign companies and 254 domestic companies, along with 120 high-level guests.
At the conference, the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Bulk Commodity Resource Allocation Hub Full Industry Chain Alliance, composed of hundreds of leading bulk commodity enterprises, industry associations, and research institutions, was inaugurated. The conference also simultaneously held the establishment ceremony of the China Green Ship Repair International Certification Innovation Alliance, the unveiling ceremony of the Zhejiang Ocean University International Bulk Commodity College, and released the “Zhoushan Declaration 2025 on Green Ship Fuel Development.”
A signing ceremony for major projects was held at the conference venue. A total of 21 projects were signed at the main venue, with a total agreement value of 64.36 billion yuan. These projects primarily focus on the bulk commodity resource allocation hub, especially in areas such as petrochemical new materials, oil storage and transportation, bulk trade, shipping services, digital ocean, and financial services. Among the 21 projects, 15 are physical investment projects with agreed utilization of funds amounting to 28.56 billion yuan, and 6 are trade cooperation projects with an agreement value of 35.8 billion yuan.
This year marks the eighth year of the Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone’s development and the eighth time the Oil Merchants Conference has been held as a platform for open cooperation in the free trade zone’s bulk commodity industry chain. In addition to the plenary session, this year’s conference will feature 6 thematic meetings, 2 industry closed-door seminars, and a series of investment promotion and business matchmaking activities. Among these, the thematic meetings on the high-quality development of global mineral resources and the development of marine tidal energy are being held for the first time.
According to statistics, previous conferences have cumulatively attracted over 7,100 guests and more than 1,900 leading domestic and international oil, gas, and related sector enterprises from over 50 countries and regions, including more than 260 Fortune Global 500 companies, with foreign enterprises and guests accounting for over 40% of the total. The conferences have facilitated the on-site signing of 103 major projects, with a total agreement value of approximately 392 billion yuan. (End)
