The United States Navy announced on Thursday that an investigation was being conducted after the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman was involved in a collision with a Panamanian-flagged freighter in the Mediterranean Sea.
The accident occurred late on Wednesday night, near the port of Egypt, it said.
“The collision did not endanger the Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as there are no reports of flooding or injuries,” noted the U.S. Sixth Fleet Public. “The propulsion plants are unaffected and in a safe and stable condition.”
