The port of Vigo starts September with a record number of ship operations

Must read

September is shaping up to be a historic month for the port of Vigo and Kaleido Logistics. The Transversal Pier terminal will be the scene of a record number of operations, with the arrival of 16 ships that, together, will move nearly 70,000 tons of goods, mainly granite, aluminum, and steel coils.

This involves conventional cargo traffic that continues to play a strategic role in the activity of the port of Vigo. These operations generate employment and activity throughout the associated logistics chain—from loading and unloading, to handling and land transport to other points—in addition to decisively contributing to the competitiveness of key industrial sectors for Galicia.

This milestone also reflects the importance of the investments made by Kaleido Logistics in recent years in the port of Vigo, as well as those yet to come, aimed at reinforcing the operational capacity of the Terminal. A capacity expanded thanks to the logistics centers developed in Valladares and Porriño, to decongest the port area.

Thanks to this commitment, the port of Vigo has established itself as an international benchmark distribution hub for certain goods, from which cargo is channeled to various destinations around the world.

The Transversal Pier will host the call of three ships on which nearly 20,000 tons of granite will be handled, while in Guixar more than 1,500 containers will be moved and in Bouzas around 2,000 cars

The activity planned for September highlights the ongoing close collaboration between the Vigo Port Authority and Kaleido Logistics, an alliance that has been decisive in attracting and consolidating these traffic volumes, positioning the port as a strategic partner for highly relevant industries such as natural stone or aluminum.

“This record number of operations is another step in our commitment to Vigo and to Galicia. We will continue to work hand in hand with the Port Authority to reinforce connectivity, competitiveness, and the port’s role as an economic and industrial engine,” emphasize sources from Kaleido Logistics.

Specifically this Monday, the Transversal Pier hosted the call of three ships on which nearly 20,000 tons of granite will be handled, while in Guixar more than 1,500 containers will be moved and in Bouzas around 2,000 cars.
