Another tugboat renamed as VB (that is, Vicente Boluda) has just docked in the port of Milazzo, in Sicily. This is the VB ETNA, a new vessel with 65 tons of static bollard pull newly built in Turkey at the Med Marine shipyard and delivered to its new owner in southern Italy. As happened in Genoa with the recent delivery of the VB INSIGNIA, the fact that the new tugboat has been renamed with the initials VB is explained by the recent merger of MSC’s Medtug company with the Spanish group Boluda Towage. The latter has announced in recent days the purchase of the towage activities of Royal Boskalis in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
The last delivery of a new tugboat in the port of Milazzo dates back to March of last year, when the SAN VITALE arrived, 24.4 meters in length, 12 meters in beam and with more than 70 tons of static bollard pull) from the Turkish shipyard Sanmar.
