To consolidate the Arica and Parinacota Region as a strategic hub for sustainable logistics innovation in the context of international trade is the goal of the First Bicceanic Node: “Challenges and opportunities for the Andean macro-zone”, which will take place on November 26, 27, and 28 in Arica.

The international meeting with free participation will bring together the main public, private, and academic actors linked to the Central Bioceanic Corridor project, highlighting the confirmed presence of the governors of Rondonia and Mato Grosso do Sul, both from Brazil; Oruro and Santa Cruz, both from Bolivia; representatives of the Regional Government of Tacna; and the governor of Arica and Parinacota, Diego Paco Mamani.

“The objective is to promote exports, attract investments, and generate jobs for the people of Arica and Parinacota, which is why this First Bicceanic Node will be a historic milestone to raise the long-awaited dream of the central corridor and position Arica as the logistics heart of Latin America,” Paco emphasized.

The activity is promoted by the Regional Productive Development Committee through the Production Development Corporation (Corfo) with the Viraliza Eventos program, the Regional Government of Arica and Parinacota in alliance with Inacap, the Arica Port Company (EPA) and Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA).

The Regional Government has led the coordination work, which expects to bring together more than 250 in-person attendees and 500 virtual participants, through international conferences, panels, thematic workshops, and a business and networking roundtable.

Representatives of MSMEs linked to logistics /or foreign trade from sectors such as agriculture, livestock, tourism, among others from the region, will be able to attend.

8 national and international speakers will participate, including representatives from the Port of Chancay (Peru), CAF Bolivia and the Government of the State of Rondonia (Brazil), in addition to the institutional support of (EPA), (TPA) and the Arica Industrialists Association (Asinda).

The meeting will also promote the integration of entrepreneurship and innovation as cross-cutting themes, generating spaces for exchange between companies, startups, and organizations of the regional ecosystem.

“These instances seek to promote technological solutions and innovative business models, oriented towards logistics efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in international markets,” explained the regional director of Corfo, Luis Rocafull López.

The project includes a follow-up and results evaluation instance scheduled for March 2026, which will allow measuring the impact and continuity of the generated alliances, officially closing the event cycle.

The First Bicceanic Node constitutes a macro activity of high strategic value, which lays the foundations for sustained public-private-academia work, projecting Arica and Parinacota as an articulating node between the Pacific and the Atlantic and a benchmark in logistics cooperation and regional innovation.
