Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has chosen TMC Compressors (TMC) to deliver a complete marine compressed air system for four LNG carrier newbuilds under construction for GasLog
Norway’s TMC will supply three control and service air compressors to each of the four Greece-owned 174,000-m3 LNG carriers. Additionally, TMC will provide feed air compressors to the vessels’ N2 (nitrogen) system. All the equipment will be manufactured in the Nordic region and shipped to the South Korean shipbuilder.
“Life at sea can be tough and this requires dependable machinery. Our compressors have been designed so the crew can maintain them when required. It is a time and money saving approach that resonates well with crew, shipyards and shipowners,” said TMC sales and business development director Hans Petter Tanum.
TMC will supply its energy efficient single-stage, oil-lubricated marine screw compressors for the four LNG carriers. These are designed and manufactured for continuous operation in high-ambient temperatures.
DMSE will deliver two of the two-stroke, dual-fuel ME-GI-propelled LNG carriers in 2024 and two more in 2025.
