He was handling the loading and unloading operations of clay

Ravenna – Another victim in Italian port workplaces. This morning in Ravenna, just after 7 a.m., a 67-year-old man lost his life. From what emerges from the initial reconstructions, the man was run over by a truck from an Emilia-based company in the yard of the terminal operator Sapir. The two vehicles were in fact carrying out loading and unloading operations of clay. According to law enforcement sources, the man was originally from the Marche region: he would not be an employee of the Sapir company but an external worker, that is, from Ctf, the Fossombrone transport cooperative. Emergency services (118) and the Police intervened on the spot.

“While waiting for the competent authorities to clarify the dynamics of the facts that today cost the life of Giuseppe Zuccoli, while he was carrying out his work inside a port terminal, I feel the need to express – explains the Commissioner of the Port Authority of Ravenna, Francesco Benevolo– my personal sorrow and my sincere closeness to the entire family of this worker. Furthermore, I wish to express my shared condolences to the entire port community, dramatically affected by what happened. Our commitment continues, incessant and determined, to strengthen, always and by every possible means, all actions and procedures aimed at structurally raising the levels of work safety through information, prevention, training, organization and control”.
