North of England Club’s Libyan correspondents Gargoum
Group Co and Shtewi Legal & Pandi Services have provided a further useful
update on port and terminal status in Libya.
The correspondents stressed that the only authorized
party entitled to issue official information on the status of Libyan ports was
the GNMT General National Maritime Co.
Currently military exercises were taking place in the
eastern waters of Libya, resulting in a temporary restricted area taking
effect.
Gargoum warned that between 07:00 local time on December 4th to 07:00h on December 15th the sea area between Benghazi and Marsa
El Brega, up to 15 miles out from the Libyan coast, was restricted, and that vessels
should avoid entering into this area.

(NSZ): The NSZ was declared by the LNA in December 2015. The area is undefined
in time and space; however, some references indicate the area stretches from
DERNA to AL BAYDA on the Eastern Libyan coast and may also extend to Benghazi.
It is most likely aimed at deterring the /smuggling of weapons and other
materials to Eastern Libya.
