The United States and Turkey signed a “Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation in the Field of Civil Nuclear Energy Policy”.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Turkey by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, and on behalf of the US by the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on the sidelines of the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the sidelines of their meeting at the White House..
The projects to be implemented under the agreement are expected to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries in many areas, from energy technologies to infrastructure investments.
“We participated in the meeting held at the White House between the President of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the President of the United States Mr. Donald Trump. We started a new process that will further deepen the long-standing and multifaceted cooperation between Turkey and the United States in the field of nuclear energy. After the meeting, we signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation in the Field of Civil Nuclear Energy Policy, in the presence of the leaders and the US Secretary of State Mr. Marco Rubio. I hope the work to be carried out under the agreement will bring mutual benefits to both countries in the near future,” said the Turkish Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.
