The launch of the first of a pair of commissioning service operation vessels Vard is building for Rem Offshore took place at Vard Braila in Romania on 8 July 2022
Fincantieri subsidiary Vard signed a contract valued at €100M for the design and construction of two construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) for Rem Offshore in Norway in August 2021.
The contract for the Vard 4 19 CSOVs includes an option for two additional vessels.
The first of the CSOVs will be completed at Vard Søviknes in Norway. Once completed, the vessel will have a length of 85 m and a beam of 19.5 m and will be fitted with a height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with an elevator, a height-adjustable boat landing and a 3D-compensated electrically-powered crane. The CSOV will have an accommodation for 120 people.
This first vessel for the Norwegian owner is due to be delivered by Vard in first half of 2023. The second vessel will be built by Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam and is due to be delivered in 2024.
