The Port Authority of Salamis was updated about the fall of a private vehicle into the sea at a rocky point in the Batsi area. The 19-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was freed by himself in good health.
The private vehicle is to be lifted by a crane vehicle while no sea pollution was observed from the incident. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the 3rd Salamis Port Department of the Central Piraeus Port Authority.
-During the afternoon hours yesterday, the Port Authority of Katakolo was updated that an 82-year-old foreign passenger (citizen of Germany) of a cruise ship (C/S) under Italian flag, required immediate hospital care. The C/S sailed to the anchorage of Katakolo, from where the patient was transferred with the passenger launch “MIMIS G” N.K. 24 to the port of Katakolo. The 82-year-old passed away before his transfer to a health unit. His body is being transported by the C/S to the next port of call, Corfu. By the Katakolo Port Authority, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, an autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Corfu Forensic Medical Service.
-During the noon hours yesterday, the Port Authority of Pylos was updated by the Unified Coordination Center for Search and Rescue (U.C.C.S.R.) of the H.C.G.-H.C.G. Headquarters, that a 79-year-old foreign female passenger (citizen of the Netherlands) of a cruise ship (C/S) under Dutch flag, which was sailing in the sea area 44 nautical miles southwest of Pylos, required immediate hospital care. The C/S approached the Navarino bay, where the 79-year-old was received by the passenger launch “SANTINO” N.P. 34, on which a H.C.G.-H.C.G. officer was aboard, and was transferred safely to the port of Pylos. Subsequently, she was transported by an ambulance vehicle to the Pylos Health Center for medical care, while the ship departed to continue its itinerary.
