Veles for Alzheimer’s brings together 126 people affected by the disease in the third edition of its regatta

Must read

The third edition of the Regata por el Alzheimer brought together 126 people affected by the disease and their family members and caregivers for a day of solidarity sailing, coexistence, and joy in Barcelona. This year, the event took a special turn in its format. Thanks to the altruistic organization of the Real Club Marítimo de Barcelona (RCMB), in collaboration with Veles per l’Alzheimer, participants were able to enjoy the experience on board two emblematic vessels: the large catamaran TURTUR SPACE, which brought together users from different centers and associations such as ACE, AFAB and Aires, and the IMOCA ESCUELA, from the Fundació Barcelona Capital Náutica, loaned for the occasion, which hosted its own group.

For two hours, the sea became a stage for smiles, conversations, and new bonds. An unforgettable experience that participants are already looking forward to repeating. In a statement, Veles per l’Alzheimer wishes to thank the commitment of the RCMB, Turtur Experience, CaixaBank and the Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica, the first partner since the event’s inception, for providing their vessels for the regatta in a selfless manner and for their financial support to carry out the event.

According to its promoters, the Regata por el Alzheimer demonstrates, once again, that “the sea is much more than a horizon: it is a place to share, remember, and create moments that remain in the heart.”
