Vigo seals a cooperation agreement with Puerto Madryn and the Argentine Patagonian Chamber of Fishing Industries

The Port Authority of Vigo, represented by its president, Carlos Botana, has signed a non-regulatory international agreement for institutional collaboration with the port administration of Puerto Madryn and the Argentine Patagonian Chamber of Fishing Industries. An agreement that was finalized in the context of the International Frozen Seafood Products Fair, Conxemar. This agreement seeks to support future development projects in ports around the world, and its main objective is to establish a stable framework for action that allows the entities to share and transfer the experience accumulated in their respective areas of competence.

A broad and strategic framework for collaboration
The parties have identified areas of mutual cooperation in the port sector, which they will develop through the exchange of information. Among the areas of collaboration, the following stand out: sustainability and energy transition, digitalization, comprehensive port management, logistics and innovation. The president of Vigo, Carlos Botana, has emphasized that “this agreement is of great interest to the port of Vigo and to the fishing sector of our region. Sharing our experience and best practices with Puerto Madryn, a benchmark on the Patagonian coast, and with Capip, which represents 16 companies and 55 vessels, allows us to establish a platform for meeting and joint action to address common challenges, especially in the energy transition and digitalization,” acknowledged the president of the Port Authority of Vigo, Carlos Botana.
