Before thebeginning ofthecentral part oftheMain Naval Parade in Saint-Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed theExecutive OrderOnApproving theNaval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation, andtheExecutive OrderOnApproving theRussian Navy Regulations, according to the Kremlin’s official website.

Theceremony was held attheSt Petersburg State History Museum intheSt Peter andPaul Fortress.

Under theExecutive Order, theNaval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation, which thePresident approved inExecutive Order No. Pr-1210 dated June17, 2015, is declared tobe no longer inforce.

When speaking at the Main Naval Parade, Vladimir Putin emphasized the new Naval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation set theboundaries andareas ofRussia’s national interests– economic, vital andstrategic– clearly andtransparently.

“First andforemost, these are our waters oftheArctic, theBlack Sea, theSea ofOkhotsk,theBering Sea, andtheBaltic andKuril Straits. We will ensure their protection rigorously andusing all available tools. Andhere thecapabilities oftheRussian Navy are paramount. It is capable ofinstantly responding toall those who decide toimpinge onour sovereignty andfreedom, successfully carrying out itsstrategic missions ontheborders ofour country andonany latitude oftheWorld Ocean with dignity. Its coastal, surface, air, andunderwater forces andother meansare highly prepared fordecisive action. They are constantly being improved,” said the President.
