Wan Hai Lines Ltd. conducted naming ceremonies for the WAN HAI 327, WAN HAI 328, and WAN HAI 329 bya charitable donation.
According to the company’s release, a physical ceremony was replaced by an online one due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last three vessels in a series of 3,055 TEU containerships constructed by Japan Marine United Corporation Kure Shipyard are the WAN HAI 327, WAN HAI 328, and WAN HAI 329.
The 3,055 TEU series features an extra-wide beam design with a Loa of 203.5 m for a 34.8 m width, making it one of the most compact 3,000 TEU-class vessels. They have a deadweight capacity of 37,160 tons, a draft of 11.5 meters, and a top speed of 21.60 nautical miles. The 3,055 teu series was built with energy conservation and environmental considerations in mind.
DNV GL has also approved all of the ships shipped with “Smart Ship” notations. The newbuildings are part of Wan Hai Line’s ongoing efforts to update their fleet in order to offer the best possible service to their customers.
JMU Kure shipyard will deliver WAN HAI 327 on March 26th. She will join Wan Hai Lines’ China-India service after delivery, ensuring efficient delivery between China, Malaysia, and India.
