Watch: Maersk’s Latest Video Tells About Challenges And Safety At Sea

A recent video from Maersk Supply Service depicts various challenges at sea during work and how the firm balances between the needs of its customers and the safety of employees.

Maersk Supply Service, which carries out complex operations at sea to deliver marine services and integrated solutions to the offshore energy sector, says safety remains its priority though nothing can delay the delivery even in the extreme environments.

The video begins saying “at Maersk Supply Service, safety at works assumes a whole new meaning. The challenge of working with very large nautical structure even in the world harshest waters in a serious business,” and further describes how the firm shows its commitment to customers without jeopardizing the safety of its employees.

While describing the operation of the firm in the corporate video, Steen S. Karstensen, CEO of Maersk Supply Service, says, “when you’re operating in water depth of 4,000 meters, moving angles around the seabed and angering of drilling rigs, it’s important that the job is done quickly but also in a way so that everybody gets home from work.”

Maersk Supply Service, a subsidiary of A.P. Moller – Maersk, delivers services including anchor handling, moving offshore structures, assistance from offshore crane vessels, subsea infrastructure support and movement of equipment, among others. The firm’s fleet of over 60 vessels include anchor handlers, subsea support vessels and platform supply vessels.

According to Maersk, the firm serves the offshore industry with vessels operated by more than 2,000 crew members and also with the assistance of about 200 onshore staff worldwide.
