Recently, Wison Clean Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Wison Clean Energy) has achieved significant breakthroughs in core offshore wind power technologies. The company’s independently developed w.TLP™ technology for 12MW wind turbines and w.semi™ technology for 15MW wind turbines have received Approval in Principle (AiP) certifications from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and DNV, respectively, laying a solid foundation for the commercial application of large-capacity offshore wind turbines worldwide.
**w.TLP™: Pioneering Solutions for 12MW Turbines in Complex Sea Conditions**
In June, Wison Clean Energy’s w.TLP™ technology for 12MW wind turbines successfully obtained AiP certification from ABS. The platform adopts a TLP structural design, thoroughly addressing the structural support requirements of ultra-large wind turbines. Rigorous basin tests have validated the outstanding motion performance and structural strength of the TLP foundation under complex sea conditions (coupled wind, wave, and current effects), providing critical data support for reducing fatigue damage and extending lifespan.
**w.semi™: Enabling Commercial Deployment of 15MW-Class Turbines**
Shortly thereafter, Wison Clean Energy’s w.semi™ semi-submersible foundation for 15MW wind turbines received AiP certification from DNV in July this year. The design scheme extensively studied the impact of harsh sea conditions on platform stability, motion response, mooring, and overall structural performance, ensuring the w.semi™ foundation’s superior stability and environmental adaptability. It reliably supports large wind turbines in various marine environments, laying a robust foundation for future commercialization.
The consecutive AiP certifications for Wison Clean Energy’s two core offshore wind power technology platforms from ABS and DNV not only demonstrate the company’s strong innovation capabilities and R&D strength in the floating wind power sector but also highlight Wison’s determination and confidence in advancing the global offshore wind industry. Moving forward, Wison Clean Energy will continue to deepen collaborative innovation with global partners, accelerate the application of core technologies, and inject strong momentum into the large-scale and commercial development of offshore wind power, jointly driving the green and low-carbon transformation of the global energy structure.
