The world’s largest battery-electric ship will arrive in South America in September, after beginning its journey from Tasmania aboard the heavy-lift cargo vessel Black Marlin.
According to Incat Tasmania, designer and builder of the vessel, the crossing involves a 40-day transit. Information available on the maritime tracker VesselFinder details that Black Marlin is estimated to arrive on September 10 at the Port of Nueva Palmira, Uruguay.
At that terminal, the ship Incat Hull 096 — as the shipyard named it — will be unloaded, commissioned, and prepared to enter operation with the company Buquebus, covering the route between Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Colonia (Uruguay).
The vessel, which once in service will be renamed China Zorrilla, is 130 meters long, and its capacity allows it to carry up to 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles.
