On October 29, the first trial navigation was conducted at the Wujiang Baima Navigation-Power Junction following the completion of its diversion channel. Guided by a pilot boat, a 1000-tonnage cargo ship from upstream of the dam successfully sailed to the downstream area. Located in Wulong District, Chongqing, the Wujiang Baima Navigation-Power Junction is the final cascade in the mainstream development plan of the Wujiang River, focusing on navigation development while also incorporating power generation. Upon completion, the project will open the “last kilometer” for the southeastern Chongqing and northeastern Guizhou regions to access the Golden Waterway of the Yangtze River, promoting the comprehensive recovery of Wujiang River shipping.
