Xeneta has introduced a new set of in-platform tools designed to streamline freight rate management and procurement, combining data, automation and AI-driven analysis.

The new capabilities include integrated rate management, autonomous AI agents for procurement, and a live indexing module for contract management.

The first generation of Xeneta’s AI Agents will act as autonomous assistants for procurement teams, continuously analysing freight data to identify opportunities, assess suppliers and support capacity planning. The initial release includes agents for spend optimisation, supplier comparison and dynamic capacity allocation.

“For decades, global procurement has been defined by fragmented data, fragile contracts and manual processes, but we can change that. With Xeneta, we have one integrated platform where data, insights and AI come together to drive confident, strategic decision-making,” said Fabio Brocca, Xeneta Chief Product Officer.

“Procurement professionals are trying to move away from constant firefighting in the face of market shocks and towards a proactive approach. This transformation is made possible through new service level data, smart insights using genAI and new tools to manage rates directly in Xeneta.”

“Our AI Agents act as a team of analysts working 24/7. They gather data, summarise insights and even draft the next steps, so procurement professionals can focus on making decisions, not analysing spreadsheets.”

The new Integrated Rate Management (IRM) tool replaces manual rate sheets and scattered files with a unified repository built into the Xeneta platform. It allows users to upload, store and benchmark freight contracts against live market data, creating a single, auditable source of rate information.

The new Indexing Solution allows shippers and carriers to use index-linked contracts that adjust automatically to market movements. The Index Live Contract Manager automates calculations, performance tracking and audit logging within the platform, building on the company’s Index Simulator introduced earlier this year.

The new features form part of Xeneta’s broader plan to develop an integrated decision engine for freight procurement, combining market data with service performance metrics from eeSea and intelligent automation powered by AI.
