On November 7, Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding held steel cutting ceremonies for two container ships: a 5,000 TEU vessel (Hull No. NGY011) for Zhouge Shipping (Hainan), and a 4,800 TEU vessel (Hull No. NGY0018) for Fujian Chang’an Shipping.
The two container ships commenced construction are both industry-leading ship types offering high cost-effectiveness. The 4,800 TEU ship incorporates energy-saving and environmentally friendly design, balancing speed and endurance. Upon deployment, it will enhance Fujian Chang’an Shipping’s global route capacity. As one of Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding’s flagship ship types, the 5,000 TEU ship targets high-end market demand, with all performance indicators meeting industry-leading standards.
The shipowner representatives unanimously stated that their selection of Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding was based on deep trust in its construction capabilities and delivery assurance, while also acknowledging the professional expertise of Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) in vessel design.
The simultaneous ground breaking of these two ships represents a significant achievement in Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding’s deepened collaboration with the shipowner, CCS, and SDARI. It further underscores the company’s core competitiveness in the construction of medium-sized container ships.
