On October 23, the first vessel of the new-generation Hydromover 2.0, built by Singapore shipyard Marinteknik for Singapore shipowner Yinson GreenTech (hereinafter referred to as YGT), was officially delivered. The Hydromover 2.0 is a fully upgraded new product based on YGT’s original Hydromover all-electric cargo vessel. This new vessel features a range increased to three times the original, capable of covering all anchorages within the Singapore port area. It also boasts advantages such as faster charging speed and greater cargo capacity, setting a new benchmark for zero-emission cargo transfer in global ports.
This vessel was funded by Singapore shipowner YGT. The Hydromover 2.0 battery system is configured with 2 sets of lithium batteries, with a total vessel lithium battery capacity of 914.536 kWh. The electric control system is equipped with CSSC Saisiyi’s domestic DC power distribution system. CSSC Saisiyi’s DC power distribution system can provide the Hydromover 2.0 with a stable and reliable power system experience, contributing to the successful upgrade of the Hydromover 2.0.
It is noteworthy that the core frequency conversion electric control system of CSSC Saisiyi, the S-Drive, obtained the Bureau Veritas (BV) Ship Cyber Security Certificate of Compliance in 2025. It has reached the top level in the maritime industry in terms of cyber attack defense, system anti-interference, and data confidentiality, safeguarding the intelligence and security of the Hydromover 2.0.
The delivery of the Hydromover 2.0 is not only a key step for YGT in advancing its fleet electrification strategy but also an important milestone for CSSC Saisiyi in expanding into the overseas all-electric vessel market. Currently, CSSC Saisiyi, together with Seapex, has signed contracts with YGT for 5 vessels of the same type, working together to create a smarter, cleaner, and more connected maritime future.
