JULY 1, 2014—The tuna freezer vessel Ljubica was recently launched at Zamakona Yards shipyard in Bilbao, Spain, for the Ecuadoran shipowner Pesquera Miriam S.A.
The 90-meter-long fishing vessel was designed and developed by CINTRANAVAL – DEFCAR SLand has a fish tank capacity of 1,999 m3, 90 meters length and a service speed of18 knots.
The Ljubica is designed for the tuna fishing in the Pacific Ocean and will be delivered this coming fall.
This past April, Zamakona Yards was awarded a contract to build a 70-tonne bollard pull tug for Israel’s Haifa Port Company. The tug is based on a Voith Schneider design and will have a length of 31.5 meters and beam of 12.5 meters. Classed by Lloyd’s Register, the tug will have two Voith 32R5 cycloidal propellers coupled to MAN B&W /38 diesel engines, each developing 2,670 kW.
The tug will be fitted with a Hatlapa towing hook and winch.
