WK Webster has said that it had received reports, whilst
not yet confirmed, that the Zim Charleston (IMO 9461506) might berth in
Colombo to reload containers that had already been secured by acceptable General
Average security on or after September 12th.
For any cargo that was not secured before September 12th,
it was understood that separate arrangements would be made to carry it to its destination,
the details of which have not yet been advised.
The ZIM Charleston suffered a fire around August 7th or 8th when it was in the Indian Ocean. It was reported at the time
that up to 300 containers could have been lost.
The vessel berthed at the East Container terminal in
Colombo on August 12th and the affected containers were discharged.
2011-built, Hong Kong-flagged, 91,761 gt ZIM Charleston
is owned by Seaspan Holdco LVII Ltd care of Seaspan Ship Management Ltd of
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is entered with North of England on
behalf of China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association (CPI).
