60 shipowners gain access to environmental-performance benchmarking

More than 60 shipowners and vessel operators will be able to use France-based Opsealog’s digital solutions to monitor and manage their environmental performance after it joined Green Marine

These copanies are participants in the Green Marine initiative in North America and Europe, where members collaborate to improve their environmental footprint.

Green Marine Europe programme manager Antidia Citores welcomed Opsealog as a new partner “to support our aim of helping the maritime industry improve its environmental performance.”

This information can also help ports and shipyards who are members of Green Marine to improve their environmental performance.

“We strongly believe in supporting the industry’s continuous improvement through transparent, independently validated benchmarking,” said Ms Citores.

“We are confident Opsealog’s digital solutions will facilitate the transition for environmentally-minded maritime pioneers.”

Green Marine helps shipping companies to improve their environmental footprint against performance indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, underwater noise, oily discharge and waste management.

Opsealog founder and managing director Arnaud Dianoux expects its services to “contribute to a tangible change in the environmental footprint of the maritime sector.”

His company is preparing to collaborate with Green Marine members across Europe and North America in “using our digital and human expertise to help them achieve their goals in terms of decarbonisation and waste reduction.”

This includes introducing efficiency-as-a-service to vessel owners and ship operators on both continents.

“We fundamentally believe good data management is an essential pillar of shipping’s sustainability transition,” said Mr Dianoux.

He said data “gives companies the visibility they need to achieve their sustainability ambitions, measure progress and demonstrate compliance with existing and upcoming emissions regulations.”
