There has been a US west coast port worker stoppage – but not in relation to the as-yet unresolved contract. Yesterday, hundreds of clerks walked out of the port of Oakland, leading to the closure of three terminals. While they are currently working without a contract, the clerk walk-out was because they have not been paid on time, with 200 outstanding wage claims dating back to June, reports SFGate.
