- Pilotage: Mandatory for vessels >100m LoA or carrying hazardous cargo; available 24/7 via VHF Ch.16 (call sign “Tanabe Pilot”).
- Tidal Information: Mean tidal range 1.5m (max 2.1m during spring tides). Refer to Japan Coast Guard Tidal Tables (Area No.3321).
- Restricted Zones:
- Southern breakwater (33°43’50″N, 135°21’40″E) – No anchoring (submarine cables)
- Northwest sector (33°44’35″N, 135°21’25″E) – Military restricted area
- Firefighting: All berths equipped with FOAM/CO₂ systems per IMO MSC.1/Circ.1432. Oil terminal has dedicated fireboats.
- Customs Clearance: Available at Main Administration Building (33°44’02″N, 135°21’42″E), operating 0800-1700 JST.
