On July 8, Fujian Shipbuilding Group’s subsidiary Mawei Shipbuilding commenced construction of the Minjiang River’s first 1,000-ton multi-purpose electric feeder vessel (MW471-1) for Fujian Yilu Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.

Attendees at the groundbreaking ceremony included leaders from the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, China Changjiang Shipping Group, Fujian Nanping Industrial Park Management Committee, Fujian Yilu Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., China Classification Society Fuzhou Branch, CATL, CSSC Saisi Electric, Fujian Shipbuilding Group, and Fujian Shipbuilding.

The vessel measures 74.86 meters in length, 10.80 meters in beam, and 3.05 meters in depth, with a designed draft of 2.20 meters. It has a cargo capacity of 1,050 tons, a container capacity of 54 TEUs, and a battery capacity of approximately 5,877 kWh. Classified under China Classification Society for inland river B-class navigation, it is a pure battery-powered dual-purpose feeder cargo ship.

This project represents a significant achievement by Fujian Shipbuilding in actively supporting Fujian Province’s “Electric Fujian” initiative and advancing green, low-carbon development. The company will strengthen organizational coordination, optimize shipbuilding processes, and ensure high-quality project completion, aiming to establish it as a benchmark for green transformation in Fujian’s inland waterway shipping. The project will provide robust green momentum for achieving the “dual carbon” goals in the shipping sector and accelerating the province’s electrification progress.

Fujian Yilu Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. is a state-controlled joint venture established by Nanping Lin’gang Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Fujian Yiheng Logistics Co., Ltd. Leveraging core resources such as Nanping Port, the Dazhou Island Railway Dedicated Line, and bulk cargo storage facilities in the port logistics park, the company offers integrated multimodal logistics solutions (road-rail-water) for Nanping and surrounding regions, along with comprehensive supply chain management services covering bulk procurement, storage, distribution, transit, delivery, and financing.

Following the reopening of the Minjiang River waterway, Yilu Supply Chain has successfully established logistics channels such as “North-to-South Grain Transport” and “South-to-North Bamboo Transport” via Nanping Port, significantly reducing logistics costs for businesses with support from various stakeholders.
