This train will exit via Khorgos, pass through Kazakhstan, cross the Caspian Sea to Baku Port in Azerbaijan, enter Turkey, and then proceed by rail to Łódź, Poland. The entire journey is expected to take 25 days. This marks a crucial step forward for the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) in refining its logistics and transportation solutions, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the Southern Corridor.

The Southern Corridor Express train is a transcontinental fast freight route jointly developed by China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. and the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing), with strong support from Turkish Railways. The route achieves seamless rail connectivity across Turkey, with Istanbul serving as a key hub, establishing a regular Southern Corridor transport line that extends into the European hinterland via Turkey. Compared to traditional transport methods, it saves over 10 days, significantly improving the overall efficiency of the Southern Corridor and providing enterprises with secure, stable, and reliable logistics support.

The successful departure of this train represents an important exploration by the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) in the field of logistics. It leverages the advantages of rail-sea intermodal transport across the Caspian Sea, ensuring efficient cargo transfers during transit and setting a new benchmark for cross-regional logistics cooperation.

During the departure ceremony, the “Turkey-Chengdu Terminal” was officially inaugurated. A representative from the Chengdu International Railway Port Economic Development Zone stated, “We will take this inauguration as an opportunity to focus on regularizing logistics transport between the two terminals, continuously optimize the rail-sea intermodal transport hub, and transform Chengdu International Railway Port into a key gathering point and hub along the transport corridor, providing stronger support for international trade along the Southern Corridor of the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing).” (End)
