Xiamen, July 23 (Xinhua) — According to Xiamen Customs on the 23rd, Fujian Province’s cumulative ship export value reached 8.77 billion yuan (RMB, same below) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 36.5%. In June alone, ship exports totaled 1.29 billion yuan, surging 45.6% year-on-year.

Driven by the robust momentum of the “blue engine” in the marine economy, global shipping market demand for new vessels has grown significantly, sustaining Fujian’s strong ship export performance.

Customs data shows that state-owned enterprises dominated Fujian’s ship exports, accounting for nearly 90% of the province’s total ship export value during the same period.

ASEAN and the EU are Fujian’s primary ship export markets, together representing half of the province’s total ship export value. Additionally, in the first half of the year, Fujian exported ships worth 6.73 billion yuan to Belt and Road partner countries, up 14.1% year-on-year, accounting for 76.8% of total exports.

To assist shipbuilders in expanding overseas markets, Xiamen Customs proactively addressed corporate needs by closely tracking import plans for shipbuilding materials, considering the industry’s characteristics of high-value manufacturing records, long production cycles, and frequent material imports. The customs authority guided enterprises to fully utilize business-friendly policies, such as extended deadlines for centralized declarations of deep processing transfers. Meanwhile, it tailored clearance solutions for finished vessels, advising companies on streamlined measures like advance declarations. By adopting compliance-friendly supervision, the customs reduced corporate burdens, ensuring on-time, quality deliveries of exported ships. (End)
