During an official visit to Kazakhstan, a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh, visited the Aktau International Sea Commercial Port. Port management briefed the guests on the facility’s current activities, production capacities, and operational capabilities, while also presenting ongoing infrastructure projects and future development plans.
Particular attention was paid to prospects for strengthening transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran, enhancing the efficiency of maritime shipping in the Caspian Sea, and improving the connectivity of regional routes. The role of the Port of Aktau as a key link in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route was highlighted.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing the partnership, increasing cargo volumes, and strengthening trade and economic ties. They also expressed readiness to implement joint initiatives in the fields of maritime logistics and port infrastructure.
