On July 25, the 85,000-ton multipurpose pulp carrier M85K-2, built by CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. Shan Ship Heavy Industry for CITIC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., successfully completed its sea trial.
The sea trial was completed 4 days ahead of the company’s annual schedule, with a total duration of 92 hours. The main engine operated for 61 hours, and a total of 52 hours were spent on various inspections, demonstrating further efficiency improvements compared to the first ship. Before the sea trial, all functional debugging and handover items were completed, achieving an integrity score of 95.6.
During the 4-day sea trial, the team overcame changing sea conditions and worked around the clock. Key performance indicators such as ship speed, fuel consumption, maneuverability, hull vibration, and noise all exceeded design requirements and regulatory standards, fully validating the vessel’s outstanding operational performance. All test items passed acceptance at the first attempt, earning high recognition from the shipowner and inspection authorities.
