The shipping company Taiwan Area, Chinaese Yang Ming has ordered from the South Korean shipbuilding company Hanwha Ocean the construction of seven 15,000 teu dual-fuel container ships, which are expected to be delivered between 2028 and 2029 and will be used to replace older vessels. The order has a total value between $1.36 and $1.53 billion, with a unit price per ship ranging from $194.8 million to $218.7 million. The seven container ships will join the five units of the same capacity that will be delivered next year and are part of Yang Ming’s fleet expansion program (April 15, 2022 and December 23, 2024).
