And a Liberian flagged cargo ship loaded with coal was hit by an explosion on Monday while sailing on the Patapsco River not far from the collapsed Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore.
The 230-meter-long cargo ship W Sapphire, which had just loaded coal at the CSX Curtis Bay terminal in Baltimore, had begun its journey to Mauritius when an explosion at approximately 18:30 local time hit the ship, writes gCaptain.
The city’s authorities report that the fire following the explosion has been extinguished.
None of the 23 crew members were injured in the explosion.
