Blue Water, which has just delivered a disappointing result and has replaced its top executive, is now strengthening its position within wind turbine operations at the South Harbour in Esbjerg with an area expansion of 200,000 m². The first 20,000 m² are expected to be taken over in November 2025, while the rest of the area will be ready in the second quarter of 2026.

”With the new area, we have a unique opportunity to meet the increasing demand from the wind industry. The Port of Esbjerg plays a central role in the development of offshore wind in the North Sea, and the expansion ensures that we can deliver the facilities and capacity our customers demand,” says Per Jensen, Director Port Service at Blue Water.

Blue Water already has significant areas at the South Harbour, including 75,000 m² at the company’s onshore wind turbine terminal and 25,000 m² with Esbjerg Tubular Service. Soon, Blue Water will also take over the remaining areas in connection with the upcoming 160,000 m² RoRo terminal, which handles line traffic to the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Spain.

”It is absolutely crucial that we take the steps now that ensure our customers have access to the right facilities in the future. With this area, we not only strengthen Blue Water’s own position, but we also contribute to the Port of Esbjerg maintaining its role as Europe’s most important logistics hub for offshore wind,” says Per Jensen.
