HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. announced that it has secured an order for approximately USD 160 million to build three feeder-type container ships for an undisclosed client in the Oceania region.
It was reported that the company will deliver one 1,800 TEU vessel and two 2,800 TEU ships before October 2027.
Feeder units, typically with a capacity of less than 3,000 TEU, are medium-sized ships that transport containers between secondary ports and main terminals.
HD Hyundai Mipo is part of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE), a sub-holding of HD Hyundai, along with its two other subsidiaries: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co.
