Netherlands-based Burando Energies has announced the formation of a new board of directors as it targets growth during the energy transition.

The newly appointed four-member leadership team includes Ruben Blok as Chief Executive Officer, Vivian van der Heijde as Chief People and Organisation Officer, Hessel de Waard as Chief Financial Officer, and Davy van den Tempel as Chief Commercial Officer.

According to the bunker supplier, the leadership restructure represents a “significant milestone” in its development trajectory.

“Together, they bring diverse expertise, forward-thinking perspectives, and a shared commitment to driving Burando Energies’ next phase of development,” the company said.

Burando added that it expects the strengthened team to accelerate growth, drive innovation, and deliver sustainable impact in the maritime fuels market.

Headquartered in Rotterdam, Burando Energies is a physical supplier in all ports of the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region as well as Hamburg, delivering all major conventional fuel grades.

As regards sustainable marine fuels, the company provides Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) blends, FAME residuals, and other ISCC-certified residual biostreams, which are all said to provide reductions in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 96%.
