Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI) received two certifications, after the Ministry of the Environment, through the Huella Chile program, granted the port operator recognition for the quantification and reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG) corresponding to the 2024 management.
Furthermore, ATI obtained the I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) certification, which certifies that 100% of all the energy used in its operations last year, equivalent to 2,977 MWh, came from renewable sources supplied by Enel Generación Chile, certifying the use of clean energy in the terminal, the reduction of its environmental footprint and its contribution to Chile’s carbon neutrality goals by the year 2050.
“These achievements reflect our permanent commitment to moving towards a cleaner, more efficient and responsible operation. At ATI we are convinced that sustainability with concrete measures is key for the future of the port and the region,” stated the general manager of ATI, Mark Bindhoff.
