On October 10, the 49,500-ton methanol dual-fuel /product tanker No. 6, built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) subsidiary Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in conjunction with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. for J.P. Morgan Asset Management, was signed and delivered.

This ship type is a new generation methanol dual-fuel /product tanker independently developed by GSI. It is equipped with an advanced methanol dual-fuel power system, features a shore power system Ready interface, and adopts a rotor sail Ready design. It meets the IMO Tier III emission requirements, achieving ultra-low emissions while balancing operational economy, perfectly aligning with the green transition needs of the global shipping industry.

During the construction of this vessel, the project team adhered to the principle of “Safety First, Quality Foremost” and promoted lean production with the concept of “process front-loading.” By strictly controlling the completeness of compartments, systems, and areas, it achieved an excellent score of 98.3 points in the launch transition phase review. The superstructure area innovatively adopted a “one-dragging-three” model, integrating outfitting, accommodation, and painting resources to achieve joint construction, relying on daily meetings to ensure 100% on-time completion of key processes. By tracking the critical construction path with visual charts, the project team identified risks in advance and formulated preventive measures, significantly shortening the dock construction cycle of the vessel.
