On October 10, the 114,000-ton product oil tanker “CAPE ANTIBES” (H1595), built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING company at an alternate location, was officially named and delivered.
Representatives from relevant parties including Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING company, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Singapore’s Poplar Marine Consulting, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. jointly attended the signing and naming ceremony. The naming person, Long Hui, read the naming speech and unveiled the new ship.
Andrew Andrianopoulos, the shipowner of Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING company, expressed his gratitude to all employees of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, highly affirming their exquisite craftsmanship and professionalism, while also thanking the American Bureau of Shipping, the on-site management team, and the entire crew for their collaborative support. As the second ship in the series, the “CAPE ANTIBES” derives its name from the town of Antibes in southern France, inheriting a piece of family memory and maritime tradition. The successful delivery of this ship is a win-win achievement for CAPE SHIPPING and Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, based on shared values of respect, integrity, and long-term cooperation.
