The five largest ferry companies in Denmark experienced a total increase of 100,000 passengers in the summer months of June, July, and August compared to last summer. Calculated in percentage, this corresponds to an increase of 1 percent.
“It is absolutely an approved summer for the large Danish ferry companies. For many Danes, a trip by ferry is a completely natural part of the summer holiday,” says Jacob K. Clasen, Deputy Managing Director of Danske Rederier.
“The ferry companies are really putting their shoulders to the wheel in these years and are investing in both new ferries and upgrades of the existing ones. They do this to ensure that a journey on board their ferries in the future becomes even easier, greener, and more comfortable. I am sure that the Danish ferries are facing a bright future,” says Jacob K. Clasen.
The five largest ferry companies are Molslinjen, Scandlines, Go Nordic Cruiseline (the Oslo ferry), Stena Line, and Fjordline.
Together, the five companies transported approximately 8,870,000 passengers between Denmark and our neighboring countries over the summer.
