The presence of Greek shipowners was intense for yet another week in the newbuilding market, with tankers having their share of the honors. Specifically, according to a recent report by G. Moundreas, orders were recently placed for four tankers of Greek interests, from three different companies.
In particular, according to a recent report by G. Moundreas, Atlas Maritime, of the interests of Mr. Leon Patitsas, placed an order for a Suezmax tanker, with a capacity of 157,000 dwt. The company of Greek interests once again entrusted the shipyards of South Korea and returned to those of DH Shipbuilding, according to the report. The delivery is expected in 2027, while the cost amounts to $86.6 million.
At the same shipyard, Golden Energy, headed by Mr. Victor Restis, also placed an order. The order concerns the construction of a similar vessel, with a total value of $85 million, with its delivery estimated for 2027.
Finally, Samos Steamship proceeded with an order for two tankers, with a capacity of 107,000 dwt each. The two Aframaxes will be built at the Japanese shipyards Nihon and are expected to be delivered in the period 2027-2028.
