Ocean Winds renews its partnership with Spinergie for a third year, using real-time vessel and project data to navigate a tightening offshore wind supply chain. The collaboration highlights how digital intelligence is becoming vital to the sector’s efficiency and decarbonization goals.
In an industry where vessel bottlenecks and cost pressures can make or break a project, accurate market intelligence is no longer a luxury but a necessity. Ocean Winds, the international offshore wind company created by EDP Renewables and ENGIE, has renewed its Market Intelligence contract with Spinergie for the third consecutive year to refine its fleet analysis and project benchmarking.
With offshore wind projects spread across eight countries, Ocean Winds faces growing complexity in securing the right construction vessels. Rising costs and volatile supply chains have made timing and insight critical. Spinergie’s Market Intelligence platform offers real-time and historical data on global installation and maintenance campaigns, helping operators like Ocean Winds identify vessel opportunities well ahead of demand.
The platform allows Ocean Winds to benchmark operational performance across its 17 secured projects. By analyzing key metrics such as days per turbine and days per foundation, project teams can measure efficiency against industry standards and adjust plans accordingly.
“Spinergie enables us to benchmark our project plans against the broader market. We can more readily identify vessel opportunities and stay a step ahead of the tightening supply chain with reliable availability and performance intelligence,” said Oscar Diaz, Chief EPCI Officer at Ocean Winds. “We value Spinergie’s ongoing support and expertise and look forward to continuing this trusted collaboration.”
Beyond benchmarking, Ocean Winds integrates Spinergie’s open data architecture with its internal systems to create a single, comprehensive view of project performance. This centralized platform keeps teams aligned and allows for more targeted decision-making.
According to Fabien Scemama, Head of Client Success at Spinergie, the collaboration demonstrates how data-driven planning can help developers stay resilient. “There is no room for guesswork in today’s offshore wind market. Developers need accurate vessel availability and performance benchmarking that they can rely on to make impactful decisions,” he said. “Ocean Winds is proving that combining their own expertise and operational data with intuitive Market Intelligence is the only way to build projects that can withstand supply chain volatility and deliver without delays.”
As offshore wind expands to meet global decarbonization targets, partnerships like this show that real-time insight may be the most valuable resource in the race for cleaner energy.
