PortosRio celebrated a new advancement in its agenda for attracting private investments and modernizing the infrastructure of the state’s public ports. In an auction held at the B3 headquarters in São Paulo, the RDJ07 terminal, located in the Port of Rio de Janeiro, was awarded to Petrobras with a concession offer of USD 19,250,400.

With a total area of 56,800 square meters, the RDJ07 will be destined for the mobilization of offshore logistical support cargo, linked to oil and natural gas exploration and production activities.

The lease agreement, valid for 25 years, contemplates estimated investments of USD 18.4 million, aimed at modernizing the infrastructure and expanding the terminal’s operational capacity.

The project includes the demolition of old structures, the construction of a new warehouse of at least 3,500 m², as well as the implementation of administrative and operational facilities, access gates, perimeter fencing, and improvements to internal roads.

The acquisition of large-scale equipment, such as six cranes, ten forklifts, and twenty trailers, is also planned, in addition to the installation of a new firefighting system and an electrical substation.

“Petrobras’s victory in this bidding demonstrates the confidence of the largest Brazilian company in the Port of Rio de Janeiro. PortosRio works to guarantee a competitive and efficient environment, capable of attracting investments and boosting the state’s economy. This result confirms that we are on the right path, consolidating the port as a strategic logistics hub for offshore operations and for strengthening the oil and gas chain,” highlighted Flavio Vieira, president director of PortosRio.

“We are very satisfied with the auction result. The Port of Rio de Janeiro is extremely important for Petrobras; it played an essential role in the development of the pre-salt, has a privileged geographical location and is close to important road corridors connecting key regions of industry and the economy, in addition to being near offshore support zones,” stated Fernando Vidal, director of Logistics for exploration and production at Petrobras.

The bidding was conducted by the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) and the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), within the framework of the Federal Government’s Port Leasing Program, under the criterion of the highest concession value.
