Oceangoing container traffic at Japan’s six major ports rose by 8.9% year-on-year in August, reports Container News.
The six ports together handled approximately 1.15 million TEUs, according to preliminary data from the transport ministry. Exports increased by 9.5% to 558,278 TEUs, while imports grew by 8.3% to 590,296 TEUs.
Breakdown by port
All six ports recorded solid growth, with Kawasaki showing a particularly sharp export increase.
